This is a place where I jot down what I have experienced as a firefighter. When I got hired on all I knew about the job was what I had seen in backdraft. I was attracted to helping people, well that is what you are supposed to say in your fire interview and sure thats true but I think I was most attracted to the adventure. Three months in the fire academy, as good as the training was, did not prepare me for the curveballs. Expect the unexpected they say. I have experienced some incredible moments but I have also experienced things I wish I could forget but I can’t. Most of the time I love what I do but nobody gets through a career in the fire department unscathed. </div>
